An Interlude: #PFB2010, #BHF10PP & Tort(e)

Tort(e) Ninja.

Well, I'm out. It's okay, I'm not crying--even if it is the weekend of the BlogHer Food 2010 Pity Party. Speaking of which, if you're sad you're not at BlogHer Food, come and join the virtual pity party we've got goin' on. There's prizes and everything. But that's not the point of this post. The following is.

Despite being out after round 3, Project Food Blog was worth it. I had a lot of fun coming up with crazy ideas and harassing my friends and family in the spirit of making it work. I also found a lot of great new blogs and blogger friends to read and harass via Twitter. And those Garlic Chocolate Truffles? They provided me with the biggest day yet on The Baking Barrister (over 1,000 unique hits!). But now? Now I can relax like a normal person and go back to making real food for dinner since I'm not trying to crank out a post. And maybe I can spend more time looking for a job. Well, most likely. But before I do that, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who sent a vote, tweet or comment my way during Project Food Blog. And an extra thank you to people who found me via the competition and have decided to stick around by following me on Twitter, Facebook, Google Friend Connect and via my RSS feed. I promise not to let you down!

Also, I'd like to let you know that, as shown above, Tort(e) is now openly a Food Ninja in honor of the Food Ninja contest being held by three lovely ladies. And Tort(e) also recently gave an interview for the #BHF10PP and proceeded to amuse and subsequently scare The Peche's kids. See below the cut for greatness.

And because Tort(e) has a big head from all that ninja-ing and this starring role, I give you this:

Now back to the BlogHer Food 2010 Pity Party! And I can't wait to meet some of you at Foodbuzz Fest next month!

I too am out. But, I'm relieved. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time, learned a lot, met great, new people, but didn't like the loss of freedom I endured during the challenge. Now I can write what I want, when I want. Yea!

I agree with Eileen...there is such a relief to being able to have some more freedom in posting. I was so surprised to see that you didn't make it to the next round...you so deserved it. But at least we all are in good company! Thanks for sharing, as always!

I love Tort(e). So. Freakin'. HARD. I now want to make an oven mitt puppet of my own, and call it Tart(e). :)

(PS - I still think it sucks that you didn't make it through to Challenge #4. Your desserts kicked ass, and I personally felt it was one of the most creative entries for that round. So there.)

Way too funny. Sorry you are out (me too). I am so glad to have found you through the contest though. You always make me laugh and inspire :)

I was very sad to find that you didn't move forward. Your posts were my very faves. You were awesome, and will continue to be awesome, I'm certain.
